Some early fanzines were produced using a process called hektography/hectography that involved the use of a tray of gelatine. In the 1970s I was amazed to find a small kit still being offered for sale so, out of curiosity, I bought one to experiment with. The kit is long gone but I recently uncovered the instructions, which explain the process in detail:
