The first costume to be seen at a UK convention was worn by Dorothy Jacobs at CORONCON in 1953 as part of a play. The following year Ina Shorrock and Pat Doolan dressed as 'Bergey Girls' for a party. In 1955, Liverpool fans took things a step further when they threw a fancy dress party, though they don't appear to have told others it was fancy dress.
